The Schrafft Center

Formerly the Schrafft Candy Factory, the Schrafft Center on the shores of the Mystic River in Charlestown has been redeveloped for commercial uses.

Major exterior restorations were completed in phases. Many sections of brick were removed, subsurfaces repaired, and brick replaced. Several areas required repointing. Thru wall flashing was installed in conjunction with replacing stone lintels and sills. Windows and control joints were caulked. Extensive structural concrete restoration involved cutting out old concrete, replacing or repairing rebar. The concrete was then patched and coated to match the existing.
